Reform the postal system?

The price of a stamp goes up so often that the post office created the forever stamp so that they wouldn’t have to print the price on the anymore. Meanwhile they give reduced rates to bulk mailers that flood us with junk mail. What if the junk mailers had to pay a higher rate, and the rest of us got a reduced rate for private mail?

Sounds good to me… I just started an ebay business an shipping is ridiculously expensive..
If the price of a letter were $5, it would be a heck of a lot cheaper than delivering yourself, now wouldn’t it?
(That is about the stupidest thing you could find to complain about!)
the postal system is really going under, they are getting rid of all the clerks and uping the price of stamps once again, they also cut all postal employees pay, some up to 10 thousand dollars a year. its really horrible. but i guess thats what technology does.
Not sure, sounds like a good idea tho. Im not really affected by the price of stamps (I think) b/c i dont send out letter every other week but I do know other things are getting more exp. as well such as the rent on my PO BOX and sending a package..grr
I think the post office should work on their attitude and customer service too (last year I had to pay quite a sum of moeny to get my passport expidited so i could leave to europe cause the lady at the post office didnt gather all the information she should have from me)

There is no good way for them to decide who sends junk mail and who doesn’t, especially because of the risk if the raise rates for someone who isn’t junk mail…
Also they raise the rates to keep jobs for the people that work there…
Just pay the 37 cents per private letter and help keep peoples jobs, especially with the way our economy is the rate raising on stamps actually helps out a lot.
I like the idea. The post office returned my tax notice because the address was reversed, but they delivered all the third class mail with that same wrong address. I asked them to return all third class mail that did not have the correct address but they said it was important to deliver all the mail. I asked about delivering 1st class, and they said 1st class had to have the exact address. Go figure.
