Why do some regular emails get identified as Bulk email?

Posted by admin under Spam Bulk Mail

pachl@sbcglobal.net asked:

I often find regular emails from friends or from a school in the Bulk section of my sbc global (Yahoo) email. Some have attachments while others do not. These were not mass mailings. They were messages sent only to me. Why do they get classified as Bulk? What can the sender do to prevent this from happening?

Add them to your address book or while in the spam folder look for the button that says this is not spam and click it. That way the next time you get email from them you get it in the regular mailbox.

No spam filter is perfect. Some you can train over time to better pick up patterns or not quarantine specific e-mail addresses. However, it’s always best to review your junk mail folder before dumping it. Sometimes mail is filtered due to a particular mail server or ISP, subject wording, mail routing, or header details.

You BOTH MUST HAVE your complete and correct email addresses in each other’s email address books. Otherwise, the mail sent to and from won’t go to your Inbox. It automatically goes to Bulk because you, the receiver of the email, haven’t classified, as you will when you correct the problem by doing the steps above, what to do with the email. I had that problem once before I figured out that what I’m telling you to do is what I had to do. It nearly drove me mad before I figured out the solution.
